Students holding educational drones during a lesson
Little Bit Academy - Poland

Dronesin education

Sky Ladder is aerial robotics for schools: three levels that take a pupil from a first indoor flight to a drone they built themselves. It combines hardware with a curriculum, teacher training and a tournament format, and has been used in Polish classrooms since 2018.

10 lesson scenarios, 45 min each No licence, no registration Blockly and Python In classrooms since 2018
The programme

What the programme includes

To run regular classes, a school needs more than drones: lesson plans, a trained teacher and a reason for pupils to keep going.

Little Bit Academy runs a complete educational programme for primary and secondary schools, using small safe drones to teach programming, physics and maths (STEM) together with teamwork and communication skills. Lesson scenarios were developed with university partners. Each scenario is a self-contained mission tied to one subject and one lesson.

The teacher runs the lesson and explains their own subject. They do not have to solve technical problems - the pupils do that, which is the point. We have been running these classes ourselves since 2018, so the scenarios are written for a real classroom and a real 45 minutes, not for a demo.

Curriculum

Ten complete lesson scenarios of 45 minutes, each a mission on a pupil card, ending with a quiz. Written in Polish today; English localisation is in preparation.

Teacher training

A short course that takes a teacher with no drone experience to running the first lesson alone. Safety, handling, Blockly, classroom management.

Tournament

Droniada Junior - an international series of tournaments for school teams. A reason for pupils to keep flying after the last lesson of the unit.

Sky Ladder

From the first flight to a drone they built

The pupil does not learn to fly. They learn to build and program a machine that flies. Three steps, one path. A school takes them one at a time, not all at once.

Step 1 of 3

Fly and program

The drone already flies. The pupil writes a program for it and sees straight away whether they were right. Blockly, then Python, sensor data in a physics lesson.

Running in 70 Polish schools. Hardware: Robolink CoDrone EDU.

DIY drone kit: frame, motors, speed controllers, FPV camera and batteryPrototype
Step 2 of 3

Build and repair

A DIY kit. The frame is printed at school on its own 3D printer from an open model; the pupil assembles the rest. Then they fly FPV, well beyond the classroom.

On sale from 2027. This is the layer pilot courses skip.

Step 3 of 3

Design and fly further

The ŻBIK fixed-wing aircraft. Longer range, longer endurance, and qualifications that mean something outside school too.

Concept visual. In design.

The drones come with 10 ready-made lesson scenarios. Teacher training can be added to the order.

Step 1 hardware - Robolink CoDrone EDU

Everything already on board

Seven programmable sensors and a stable radio link. Nothing has to be bought separately to start.

All seven sensors are readable from code, in Blockly or in Python.

  • AccelerometerAcceleration on three axes
  • GyroscopeTilt and rotation
  • BarometerPressure, therefore altitude
  • Front rangeDistance to an obstacle
  • Bottom rangeHeight above the floor
  • Colour sensorReads the coloured landing pads
  • Optical flowHolds position without GPS
  • 7 of 7All available from code. No add-on modules.

Radio link

The drone talks to its controller over a 2.4 GHz radio link. Up to 10 drones can fly in one classroom without interfering with each other. The connection is stable, and you do not need to pair the drone again after swapping the battery. With several groups in one lesson, that saves time.

Controller with a screen

The kit includes a Smart Controller with an LCD screen. It shows live sensor data and is itself programmable - a pupil can plot a graph on it or build a custom control panel. It is a physical transmitter with sticks, like the ones used with larger drones, so the habit carries over.

Spare parts

Spare propellers come in the box. Motors, frame and batteries are available as replacement parts, so after a hard landing you replace one part, not the whole drone. Repair is also where Step 2 begins.

Specification

The drone in numbers

  • 54.8 g - light enough that indoor flight needs no licence or registration
  • 139 x 139 x 35 mm
  • 7-8 minutes of flight per battery; two batteries in the kit
  • Propeller guards as standard
  • Blockly: Chromebook, macOS, Windows. Python: macOS, Windows
  • Programmed from a computer through the controller - no pupil phones involved

Tablets and iPads are not supported by the manufacturer. Blockly runs on a Chromebook; Python does not.

Tournament

Droniada Junior

Droniada Junior is an international series of tournaments where children and teenagers learn programming, drone handling and safe flying. It is the part of the programme that pupils talk about at home.

Robolink CoDrone EDU are the official drones of the Droniada Junior tournament.

Running it in your market

The tournament format travels: rules, mission design, scoring and the training that gets a school team ready. Ask us about it.

Distributors and education partners

What we bring to a partnership

We are looking for partners who already sell to schools and want to offer a complete programme alongside the hardware.

  • A complete set of lesson scenarios - ten 45-minute lessons with pupil mission cards and quizzes
  • A three-level product ladder - the same school buys three times, over three years
  • A teacher-training format that works with teachers who have never flown anything
  • The Droniada Junior tournament format
  • Classroom know-how since 2018 - what breaks, what bores pupils, what a school actually buys
  • Localisation - materials are in Polish today; we are preparing an English version and will work with a partner on theirs

What we are looking for

Distributors, resellers and education organisations with an existing route to schools, teacher-training centres or STEM programmes. Tell us which market you work in and what you already sell into it, and we will tell you honestly whether this fits.

Write in English or Polish. We usually answer the same working day.

Want to see a lesson?

We can run a short online demo with the drone in the frame and show you a real lesson plan. Write to us and suggest a time.
